South Africa A completed a resounding win on the final day of the first unofficial Test against India after Junior Dala ran through the tail to finish with a five-wicket haul. Dala, who had already bagged the wickets of Karun Nair and Ankit Bawne on the the third day, added three more to his tally on Tuesday (August 15) as India A lost by a massive margin of 235 runs at the LC de Villiers Oval in Pretoria.

With Vijay Shankar not coming out to bat in the second innings after getting retired hurt during the first essay, the hosts needed only three more wickets on the final day to complete the formalities. They did it in grand style with Dala fetching the wickets of Shahbaz Nadeem, Aniket Choudhary and Mohammed Siraj in successive overs to bowl India A out for 211 as the game got over inside six overs in the first session.

With the second unofficial Test set to begin on Saturday, India A's primary concern would be the form of their batsmen following twin failures in this game. India A batted less than 40 overs in the first innings, managing to post only 120 on the board. In the entire game, no Indian batsman managed to go past fifty with Bawne's 46 being the highest. Opener Stephen Cook, who was recently dropped from the Test squad, was named the player of the match for his well-constructed century in the first innings of the game.

Brief scores: South Africa A 346 (Stephen Cook 120; Mohammed Siraj 4-61) & 220/5 decl. (Aiden Markram 79; Navdeep Saini 3-20) beat India A 120 (Shreyas Iyer 31; Beuran Hendricks 3-23) & 211 (Ankit Bawne 46; Junior Dala 5-36) by 235 runs.
