India A extended their dominance in the four-day game versus Sri Lanka A in Belagavi, with the visitors in dire straits at 83 for 4 in their first essay, still trailing by a massive 539.

The home side, who began the day in a commanding position at 376 for 1, solidified their strong position. Abhimanyu Easwaran, the opener, duly completed his double ton. Eventually, Akila Dananjaya prised Easwaran out LBW for a 321-ball 233.

However, there was no respite for the tourists as Anmolpreet Singh composed an impressive 116 while Siddhesh Lad accumulated 76. After India A declared their innings at 622 for 5, Shivam Dube and Sandeep Warrier ripped through the cream of Sri Lanka A's batting unit to leave them precariously-placed.

On Day 3, the tourists would be hoping for Ashan Priyanjan and Niroshan Dickwella, the two unbeaten batsmen, to propel the side to a score of some respectability.

Brief scores: India A 622/5 decl. (Abhimanyu Easwaran 233, Priyank Panchal 160) lead Sri Lanka A 83/4 (Sadeera Samarawickrama 31; Shivam Dube 2-11) by 539 runs
