Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh 3rd ODI Prediction

by  Neel Ashar  •  Last updated on 2021-05-27 14:46:04

Bangladesh and Sri Lanka face off again in Mirpur, Dhaka for the final ODI of the 3 match series being played behind closed doors. In a normal world, the Bangladeshi fans would have screamed at the top of their voices when Bangladesh won their first-ever ODI series against Sri Lanka a couple of nights ago. The enthusiasm is the same in these tough times though. The home side's fans would rally behind their team for a whitewash. Could the Men in Green do so, or would Sri Lanka salvage some pride?

Who are the favourites?

Bangladesh are the firm favourites to win this contest. Having won the first 2 ODIs by convincing margins, the Men in Green have momentum by their side and a potent batting and bowling lineup to torment Sri Lanka on home turf. Mehidy and Mushfiqur have had a major hand in these victories. Mustafizur has been a revelation in recent times as well.

Scorecard Predictions

1) If SL bats first, they will score 260/7. BAN will chase this down in 47 overs with 4 wickets to spare.

2) If BAN bats first, they will score 315/8. SL will score 255/9 and lose by 60 runs.

Toss Prediction

Expect the captain winning the toss to bat first, given that the pitch is flat and would remain the same throughout the match duration. If dew settles in later in the evening, the team chasing has an added advantage.

Market Tips and Odds (as of 11:00 a.m. IST 27th May 2021 )

Bangladesh to win the match (Indibet - 1.57)

Expect a cracker of a contest and Bangladesh to win this match by a poky margin.

They have the momentum to beat Sri Lanka at a canter and whitewash the series 3-zip.

Indibet Predictions-

Mehidy Hasan Miraz to pick up the most number of wickets (2.50)

Mehidy Hasan Miraz has been in a rich vein of form in recent times.

He would want to add a few wickets to his tally against Sri Lanka.

Mushfiqur Rahim to hit the most number of runs in the match (3.30)

Bangladesh's lynchpin, swashbuckling, flamboyant middle-order batsman and wicketkeeper is itching to score big again.

Expect him to score the majority of the home side's middle-order runs and outscore everyone else in the match.

Sri Lanka to hit more sixes than Bangladesh (2.00)

Expect SL to hit more sixes than BAN in this match.

Aided by Mirpur's short square boundaries, SL's star-studded batting lineup would relish these conditions.

Perera, Mendis, Dickwella, Shanaka and Hasaranga are all capable of clearing the rope at a canter.
