Shikhar Dhawan, Ishan Kishan ‘steals the show’, as India clinches 7 wickets introductory win

Newly inducted skipper Shikhar Dhawan and debutant as well as ‘Birthday Boy’ of the evening Ishan Kishan smacked half-centuries as India crushed down Sri Lanka with seven wickets triumph on Sunday. The one-week delayed series due to COVID-19 scarce in Sri Lankan camp summed up to be a one-sided affair for the ‘second string’ visitors.

Suryakumar Yadav played a late cameo in the match, and this composed batter decorated his 31 runs knock off 20 balls with five superlative boundaries and stayed unbeaten along with the skipper.

Sri Lanka, led by newly appointed skipper Dasun Shanaka didn't look confident for once and lost wickets regularly after getting a steady start. Number eight batter, Chamika Karunaratne offered some reassurance after stretching a quickfire 43 runs knock that shot Sri Lanka’s total past 260 runs in 50 overs game-play.
