Analysis for the match.

Sunday saw Jamaica Tallawahs and Trinbago Knight Riders face off in what turned out to be a fairly comprehensive victory for the reigning CPL champions Trinbago, who won by seven wickets after chasing down their target of 145 with 2.5 overs to spare. Opener Lendl Simmons played a crucial hand, scoring 70 from 45 deliveries with five 4s and five 6s. Trinbago are now two points above the Tallawahs who can even up the score with victory here. In our preview of Sunday’s clash between these two sides, we highlighted the superior experience of the Knight Riders’ top order and how that may turn out to be the decisive factor, which indeed it was through Simmons’ knock. It would be no surprise if a similar scenario was to occur here, in which the proven international quality of Trinbago’s top five batters outscore those of Jamaica Tallawahs leading them to a second successive win here.

Avg first inning score: 159 runs (18 CPL matches have been played at the venue).

Records of chasing teams.

Won - 9

Lost - 8

Tied - 1

Match Prediction: Trinbago Knight Riders to win the match.

1). If Jamaica won the toss and opted to bowl first, Trinbago could score 150-160 runs.

2). If If Trinbago won the toss and opted to bowl first, Jamaica could score 145-155 runs.

Secondary Predictions.

1). Lendl Simmons to be the top batsman for Trinbago Knight Riders.

We are huge fans of Simmons and have been backing them this entire season. He has just started to get into form and with a 70 in the previous match will be very confident of scoring runs. He is also someone who makes the most of good form.

2). Jamaica Tallawahs to hit over 7.5 total sixes.

Kennar Lewis, Carlos Brathwaite, and Andre Russell make the Jamaica Tallawahs a terrific six-hitting team. They were 15 for 5 in the previous match and yet scored 6 sixes. With a better start, they could easily get 8 or more in this match.

Match Preview.

The Tallawahs suffered a top-order collapse in the previous match and may look to make a few changes. Kennar Lewis has been in magnificent form for the Tallawahs but Kirk McKenzie, Rovman Powell, Haider Ali, and Jason Mohammad have disappointed.

Andre Rusell came in at number 8 in the previous match. He played 8 deliveries and scored 20 not out including two sixes. For a player like Russell to just play 8 balls is a crime in T20 cricket. Carlos Brathwaite and Imad Wasim add depth to the batting lineup but the Jamaica Tallawahs certainly seem to be struggling with their batting at the moment.

Imad Wasim picked up two wickets in the previous match and have away just 19 runs. He and Miguel Pretorius are the two impressive bowlers in this lineup although Russell tends to pick up wickets in most matches as well.

The Tringago Knight Riders have not been themselves in CPL 2021. It must have been a relief for the team to see Lendl Simmons get some runs and to lead his team to a decisive victory. TKR has some gaps to fill in its lineup as well.

We are not sure Isuru Udana is the best option that TKR has among its overseas players. He has been very expensive and quite unreliable except for in one match. Ravi Rampaul and Sunil Narine are the best bowlers for TKR by a large margin and we think you can pick one of them for the Top Bowler Trinbago Knight Riders betting market.

The batting has been quite unreliable for TKR this season but it does have a lot of depth on paper. Players like Tim Siefert, Kieron Pollard, and Denesh Ramdin ensure that TKR is never out of a contest, however, they do need more contributions from the top order.

Match details.

Time - Sep 07, 07:30 pm, IST.

Venue - Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts.

Pitch reports.

The weather conditions are quite good and are expected to remain the same for this match as well. The pitch has been slow this entire season and that is not going to change. If anything, the bounce will get lower and the number of sixes that we see in each match may go down.

Team News.

Jamaica Tallawahs>>

The Tallawahs top order were well off the pace with the bat in Sunday’s game. There may well be a temptation to promote Imad Wasim and Carlos Brathwaite who made 42 and 58 from numbers six and seven. They have batted at a good strike rate throughout the tournament and a win would see them jump up to 3rd.Only one win in their last four games and two defeats in a row means that the Tallawahs need to turn their season around quickly.

Possible XI - Kennar Lewis (wk), Kirk McKenzie, Haider Ali, Jason Mohammed, Rovman Powell (c), Andre Russell, Carlos Brathwaite, Migael Pretorius, Chris Green, Imad Wasim, Fidel Edwards

Trinbago Knight Riders>>

Sunday’s victory was the fourth successive game for Trinbago Knight Riders in which they have produced a different result from the previous game. Lendl Simmons delivered with the bat and Ravi Rampaul produced more wickets to set up an easy win.In spite of inconsistent performances and results in this year’s tournament, Trinbago Knight Riders are still in with a shout of getting into a good position in the group.

Possible XI - Lendl Simmons, Sunil Narine, Colin Munro, Darron Bravo, Kieron Pollard (c), Tim Seifert, Denesh Ramdin (wk), Khary Pierre, Isuru Udana, Akeal Hosein, Ravi Rampaul
