Delhi Capitals

The young brigade of Delhi Capitals will walk into this cracking ‘race to finale’ following a setback in Qualifier-1 against CSK. In the preceding face-off, DC ruled the first phase with an overwhelming batting show but failed to barricade the advancement of 173 runs where Prithvi Shaw led from the front with firing fifty and Rishabh Pant piloted the inning in middle overs. Switching duties in second inning, DC initiated a commendable start by getting rid of Faf du Plessis’ but Robin Uthappa proved to be out of syllabus question and along with Gaikwad piled-up 100+ runs partnership that sailed aside CSK’s chase with 4-wicket in the pouch.

Despite losing the plot in Qualifier-1, Delhi Capitals are expected to field the same playing XI in Qualifier-2. However, this time all-fit Marcus Stoinis could replace Tom Curran in the team combination but Curran’s accomplishment with three-wicket haul last time out cannot be ruled out. Also, R Ashwin’s poor run with the ball carries a thin chance of disbarring him from the forthcoming face-off and Amit Mishra could marshal the spin bowling department.

Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders, yet again produced a stellar performance with ball in high-voltage Eliminator to restrict Virat & Associates to a mediocre total in Sharjah’s bout. Lockie Ferugson proved to be the golden arm for KKR, as the Kiwi bowler fractured the thriving opening partnership and thereafter RCB never looked composed with bat. KKR spinners choked batting advantages in the middle overs, and Sunil Narine was their man for the day to restrict RCB on 139 runs. KKR’s chase was a roller-coaster ride, Sunil Narine’s momentum setting cameo and staving off an RCB’s comeback helped them to trespass the finishing line in a nerve-chilling last over.

Kolkata Knight Riders have taken the beast avatar in the second half of the season, and have already produced several ‘giant killer’ performances. So far, the team combination with Shubhman Gill, Venkatesh Iyer, Rahul Tripathi and Nitish Rana amongst top four has proven a big relief for the side. However, not having someone to bat deep in the middle overs is cause of worry for this golden-strips franchise, also giving the inning finishing touch is a major concern for KKR. Unless, Andre Russell returns fit and fine there is no major alter in the team combination.

Topbets Prediction

Both teams would definitely aspire to secure a seat in the ultimate showdown and carry a bunch of players who can thrive in the challenging conditions put forward by Sharjah’s wicket. However, a side-by-side team’s analysis suggests that Delhi Capitals would finally barricade their losing streak and secure a position in second straightway finals. Sharjah wicket is expected to nurture its usual two-paced nature, and batting will be a bit challenging for both teams. Spectators should expect another low-scoring thriller where 150+ runs will be a challenging score. Toss winning skipper would look forward to bat first and utilize the advances offered by the fresh evening wicket.
