WBBL, 07th Match, BRHW vs PRSW | Match Preview and Predictions.

Analysis for the match.

These two sides put on an absolute classic only this past Sunday with Perth Scorchers emerging victorious via a one-over eliminator after a tied game. If Brisbane are to bounce back, they need to make inroads into the Perth Scorchers top order early on. However, whilst Sophie Devine only made 19 opening for Perth, she proved to be the difference in the one-over eliminator and it would no surprise to see her carry her big exploits on from that over where she hit 13 runs in just three balls. When also factoring in the experience of Marizanne Kapp and Beth Mooney, the Perth Scorchers should have enough firepower to overwhelm Brisbane Heat and narrowly come out on top once again here.

Must see points.

1). Perth Scorchers Women have Beth Monney and Sophie Devine in their lineup, both legends of WBBL

2). Brisbane Heat has a powerful batting lineup as well but it takes a more high-risk approach to the game

3). Perth Scorchers have a better bowling attack

Avg first inning score: 141 runs ( 5 WBBL matches have been played at the venue).

Records of chasing teams.

Won - 3

Lost - 1

Tied - 1

Match Prediction: Perth Scorchers to win the match.

1). If Brisbane Heat Women won the toss and opted to bowl first, Perth Scorchers Women could score 130-150 runs.

2). If Perth Scorchers Women won the toss and opted to bowl first, Brisbane Heat Women could score 120-140 runs.

Secondary Predictions.

1). Sophie Devine to be the top batsman for Perth Scorchers Women.

Sophie Devine is one of the best all-rounders in world cricket for a long time. She has also been prolific for the Scorchers in the WBBL. In the previous game, she opened the batting and scored a 12-ball 19 with two fours and a six. Thereafter, she got two wickets before showing her class with the bat in the one-over eliminator.

2). Marizanne Kapp to be the top bowler for Perth Scorchers Women.

Marizanne Kapp bowled a maiden and took 1-18 from her 4 overs on Sunday. She then bowled the eliminator over which shows she has her captain’s confidence. She is well worth backing as Perth Scorchers Women’s top wicket taker against Brisbane Heat Women.

Match Preview.

Brisbane Heat Women will take on Perth Scorchers Women in Match 7 of the 2021-22 WBBL. This T20 fixture will be played at The Blundstone Arena, Hobart on October 19 starting at 16:50 local time.

Brisbane Heat Women had a dramatic start to this season’s WBBL, losing to Perth Scorchers Women in a one-over eliminator. Heat won the toss and chose to field with captain Jess Jonassen picking up 3-16 from 4 overs as Perth were restricted to 137-7. In reply, Brisbane Heat were 92-2 in the 12th over, before losing wickets at regular intervals but scrambled 2 runs from the final ball to force the eliminator. However, they suffered two run-outs in the over and could not post a defendable target.

Brisbane Heat Women had a number of chances to win the match against the Perth Scorchers in the previous match but its batters seemed to be in a hurry and kept going for extravagant shots even when the rate was well under control.

They do have some very good power hitters like Grace Harris, Georgia Redmayne, and Jess Jonassen in their lineup and the depth is not too bad either. What they do lack is a bit of experience and that could cause some mistakes in pressure situations.

The bowling looked a bit thin for Brisbane Heat especially as their captain, Jess Jonassen, was not on her game. This is going to be a big problem against a strong batting team like the Perth Scorchers.

Perth Scorchers are always going to be in the game with players like Sophie Devine, Beth Mooney, and Marizanne Kapp in the lineup. These are three WBBL legends and we expect them to perform on more occasions than not. The Perth Scorchers are going to be able to match Brisbane Heat in terms of batting power but with more consistency and experience in their camp.

Kapp and Divine are also among the leading bowlers for the Scorchers but King, White, and Graham were quite useful as well in the previous match.

Match details.

Time - Oct 19, 11:30 am, IST

Venue - Bellerive Oval, Hobart.

Pitch reports.

The threat of rain seems to have subsided over Hobart and so we should be able to get a full game. As far as the pitch goes, the teams can expect another flat batting surface where a lot of runs are there for the taking. We thought both teams left some runs on the table in the previous match and 150 is certainly possible in this next match.
