Analysis for the match.

Both these sides boast 100% records and all roads lead to an enticing encounter with two top bowling units locking horns. Both Melbourne Renegades and Adelaide Strikers took ten wickets in their first match and this battle may come down to which batting order copes best with the bowling of their respective opponents. From a power perspective, the Renegades may just have the edge with a formidable opening duo of Sophie Molineux and Jemimah Rodrigues each capable to playing a big knock here. However, the variations of the Strikers’ bowling attack will more than match their opponents and have the capabilities of stunting that Renegades top order. With that in mind, consider backing Adelaide Strikers in what should prove a very close affair.

Must see points.

1). Both teams have won their previous match and are in decent form

2). Melbourne Renegades has a strong batting lineup but its bowling is a bit weak

3). Adelaide Strikers also has a strong batting lineup but more depth and a slightly stronger bowling attack

Avg first inning score: 143 runs ( 6 WBBL matches have been played at the venue).

Records of chasing teams.

Won - 3

Lost - 2

Tied - 1

Match Predictions: Adelaide Strikers Women to win the match.

1). If MLRW won the toss and opted to bat first, ADSW could score 135-155 runs.

2). If ADSW won the toss and opted to bat first, MLRW could score 125-145 runs.

Secondary Predictions.

1). Jemimah Rodrigues to be the top batsman for MLRW.

Jemimah Rodrigues has been in excellent form in limited overs tournaments this year. She went at a strike-rate of 97.06 on Saturday and is our tip for Melbourne Renegades Women’s highest run scorer in this match.

2). Tahlia McGrath to be the top batsman for ADSW.

Tahlia McGrath was the standout performer in the Adelaide Strikers Women v Sydney Thunder Women match. She is well worth backing as Adelaide Strikers Women’s top wicket taker in this game.

Match Preview.

Melbourne Renegades Women will take on Adelaide Strikers Women in Match 8 of the 2021-22 WBBL. This T20 fixture will be played at The Blundstone Arena, Hobart on October 20 starting at 13:25 local time.

An excellent batting performance from the Melbourne Renegades Women helped them clinch the win against the Hobart Hurricanes Women in their previous outing. The best part was that almost all of the leading batters from the Renegades contributed to the victory. Sophie Molineux, Harmanpreet Kaur, Courtney Webb, and Jemimah Rodrigues all got starts.

That is a good sign moving forward in the WBBL.

Among the bowlers, Georgia Wareham and Sophie Molineux were the best bowlers in the previous match.

The Adelaide Strikers managed to win their previous match on the back of some excellent performers from the middle and lower order. The top-order failed to make an impact but the team still managed to get 140. That shows depth in the batting lineup.

Dane van Niekerk, Katie Mack, and Laura Wolvaardt missed out but they should not be taken lightly. Tahlia McGrath who took three wickets in the previous match also top-scored with 42 runs with the bat. Needless to say, she is going to play a huge role for the Strikers in this match and the WBBL moving forward.

We do think the Adelaide Strikers have a slightly better bowling attack than the Melbourne Renegades, though, and that is something to be considered while placing your bets.
