T20 World Cup 1st Semi-Final: England v/s New Zealand Prediction

by  Neel Ashar  •  Last updated on 2021-11-10 13:26:42

Who are the favourites?

England are the outright favourites to play another T20 World Cup Final. Even sans a slew of T20I superstars in Ben Stokes, Jason Roy, Sam Curran and Jofra Archer, Morgan's men have annihilated every opposition that has come their way, barring a slight hiccup against the Proteas. They are well-poised to play their second consecutive T20 World Cup Final.

Scorecard Predictions

1) If NZ bats first, they will score 165/7. ENG will chase this down in 18 overs with 5 wickets to spare.

2) If ENG bats first, they will score 190/6. NZ will score 170/10 and lose by 20 runs.

Toss Prediction

Expect the captain winning the toss to bowl first, given that there might be dew later on in the 2nd innings and the team chasing has an added advantage of knowing the target as well as easier batting conditions.

England to win the match (Betway - 1.53)

Betway Predictions-

England to have a higher powerplay score (1.66)

One of England's openers is the highest run-scorer of the tournament. Yes, we are talking about Jos Buttler.

His form leading into the World Cup was exemplary, and he has continued with his rich vein of form.

His potential opening partners, either Dawid Malan or Jonny Bairstow are equally destructive if not more. On their days, they can single-handedly take the game away.

England to score at least 80 runs after 10 overs (2.25)

England are more likely to score at least 80 runs at the halfway mark of their innings.

With a slew of dashers at their disposal, a must-have for the ever-evolving T20 format, they would cross this line.

Amongst all dashers, there is a mainstay in Dawid Malan and another in Eoin Morgan to steady the ship.

Jos Buttler to score more than 25 runs (1.83)

Jos Buttler is in the form of his life and would want to make the most of this opportunity before the knockouts begin.

His form at the top of the order is of paramount importance for England, given his gargantuan strike rate.

When Jos hits in the V, time stops. He has the knack for hitting the ball late allowing him an extra fraction of a second to hit the ball.
