Australia v/s New Zealand T20 World Cup Final Prediction, Playing XI, betting odds and tips

by  Neel Ashar  •  Last updated on 2021-11-14 00:38:47

Who are the favourites?

Australia are the slight favourites to clinch their maiden T20I World Cup title. They have a better all-round oiled unit to beat the dark horses, their Trans-Tasman neighbours, the Kiwis. Add to this the wily leg-spin of Adam Zampa and the pace trio of Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood and Mitchell Starc.

Scorecard Predictions

1) If NZ bats first, they will score 160/7. AUS will chase this down in 18 overs with 5 wickets to spare.

2) If AUS bats first, they will score 190/7. NZ will score 170/10 and lose by 20 runs.

Toss Prediction

Expect the captain winning the toss to bowl first, given that there might be dew later on in the 2nd innings and the team chasing has an added advantage of knowing the target as well as easier batting conditions.

Predicted Playing XIs

Australia: David Warner, Aaron Finch (c), Mitchell Marsh, Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade (wk), Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, Adam Zampa and Josh Hazlewood

New Zealand: Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson (c), Glenn Phillips, Tim Seifert (wk), James Neesham, Mitchell Santner, Adam Milne, Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Ish Sodhi

Market Tips and Odds (as of 11:00 a.m. IST 13th November 2021)

Australia to win the match (Betway - 1.61)

Betway Predictions-

Australia to have a higher powerplay score (1.72)

Finch and Warner have found their mojo back after a slew of stellar performances.

Expect the duo to have one more splendid outing in the most important match of the competition.

Warner especially has been in sensational form of late as witnessed in the Semi-Final against Pakistan.

Australia to score at least 80 runs after 10 overs (2.30)

The Aussies are well-equipped to score more than 80 runs in the first half of their innings.

With a slew of T20 dashers like Warner, Finch, Wade, Stoinis and Marsh, expect Australia to go hard from the word go.

Australia have great batting depth from Finch and Warner to Cummins and Starc.

David Warner to score more than 25 runs (1.83)

David Warner has been in scintillating form recently.

He scored 49 off 31 balls against Pakistan in the 2nd Semi-Final.

Expect him to tee off in this important fixture.
