Who are the favourites?

India are the overwhelming favourites to win this contest and seek revenge for their T20 World Cup loss against the BlackCaps. Sans a few superstars, the Men in Blue have brought in some new blood from the IPL and Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy brimming with confidence. The likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Avesh Khan and Harshal Patel are all vying for spots in the team.

Scorecard Predictions

1) If NZ bats first, they will score 165/8. IND will chase this down in 18 overs with 6 wickets to spare.

2) If IND bats first, they will score 210/6. NZ will score 150/10 and lose by 60 runs.

Toss Prediction

Expect the captain winning the toss to bowl first, given that there might be dew later on in the 2nd innings and the team chasing has an added advantage of knowing the target as well as easier batting conditions.

Betway Predictions-

India to have a higher powerplay score (1.61)

In recent times, Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have put on massive opening stands.

The opening pair boasts a slew of shots that can be used all around the field to demolish even the strongest bowling attacks.

Since the 2016 ICC World T20, Rahul and Sharma have been two of the leading run-scorers in T20Is.

India to score more than 74 runs after 10 overs (1.83)

India will face New Zealand on a Jaipur pitch having a reputation for strong pace and bounce.

The Indian top-order is well-equipped to deal with these conditions and would like to move as quickly as feasible.

KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Suryakumar Yadav are all swashbuckling batsmen capable of turning the contest around.

KL Rahul to score more than 30 runs (1.83)

In recent seasons, Rahul has been in dazzling form in the shortest format.

Rahul was one of the top run-scorers in the recently concluded Vivo IPL 2021.

He excels at hitting in the V and would be an invaluable asset to the Men in Blue throughout this event.
