Yash Dhull named India’s skipper for Under-19 World Cup 2022

BCCI, the Indian apex cricket board has finally released the 17-member squad for the upcoming Under-19 World Cup mania. The cricketing action will take Caribbean route, as all schedules of the prestigious tournament will be played in West Indies at different locations from January 14th to February 5th. 

Delhi based batter Yash Dhull is named to lead the teenage men-in-blue while Andhra’s SK Rasheed will take up the deputy’s duty. India’s dream team also includes two handy wicketkeepers- Haryana’s Dinesh Bana and Uttar Pradesh’s Aaradhya Yadav. 

The Indian selectors while announcing the main team, also announced five standby players- Rishit Reddy, Uday Saharan, Ansh Gosai, Amrit Raj Upadhayay and PM Singh Rathore. 

India, the magnificent side has been crowned with the champions title on four occasions and will top the favourites chart in 2022 campaign. The men-in-blue will kick-off their campaign with a stiff competition against South Africa on January 15 in Guyana. India will then fly to Trinidad and Tobago to confront Ireland and Uganda, on January 19 and 22 respectively. 

The International Cricket Council has levelled-up World Cup stature by adding 16 teams in the pool of 2022 edition. These teams will compete across 48 high-voltage fixtures and will be branched in four of four groups. Top two teams from each of the groups will progress towards the Super League stage and will tussle for the tournament trophy. The other bunch of teams (finishing third and fourth) will enter a plate play-off phase.
