Another edition of the IPL tournament is coming to an exciting end on 29th May 2022. Hardik Pandya-led Gujarat Titans are fighting for their maiden IPL title against Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans had a good debut season, they finished the table toppers and became the first finalist of IPL 2022 after defeating Rajasthan Royals in the qualifier 1. Rajasthan Royals also had a good season, and they are playing with confidence as a tribute to the Shane Warne. Even though they got defeated in the qualifier 1, they gave a brilliant performance with bat and bowl in their match against Royal Challengers Banglore in the qualifier 2 to win the match.
This IPL season was not so good for many of the teams who were the major attractions of the tournament. The main backlash was for Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings as they couldn't make it to the playoffs, also they finished at last and last-second positions in the points table. The two new franchises Gujarat Titans and Lucknow Super Giants were qualified for the playoffs, Lucknow was defeated by Royal Challenger Banglore in the eliminator match.
Gujarat Titans and Rajasthan Royals are strong teams with the best coordination of plans with their players. Rajasthan Royals is looking forward to winning the title after 14 years when they secured the IPL trophy in the inaugural edition when led by Shane Warne. "Shane Warne... is such an influential figure for the Rajasthan Royals, and having led the team to success in that first season, We will miss him dearly, but we know he is looking down on us with a lot of pride."- said star player Jos Butler.
In the Rajasthan team, Butler has been a pillar for the batting department, even scoring a century to take his team to the final this season. He equaled Virat Kohli's record of four tons in an IPL season and leads the list of players for the orange cap with 824 runs. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya has done a brilliant job in his debut as a captain apart from being a good batter, bowler, and fielder. He has given good knocks and picked crucial wickets whenever his team needed him. Every talent in the Gujarat Titans has shown their strength in any of the matches, where there was an opportunity to support their team. They are one of the teams who were consistent throughout the tournament and had a good comeback even when defeated for a few games.
Gujarat is looking forward to playing at their home ground for their first IPL final in front of their supporters. Miller and Tewatia have strengthened the middle order of the team with brilliant knocks. Shami and Rashid Khan have been supporting the team by picking wickets and putting opponents under pressure. Rajasthan Royals have efficient bowlers like Boult, Chahal, Prasidh Krishna, and Ravichandran Ashwin to bowl at any of the crucial stages. Batting is led by Butler, Padikkal, Sanju Samson, and Jaiswal, which have given them good results in several matches.
Anyway, 29th May is going to be a super Sunday for cricket lovers as yet another IPL season is coming to an end. It is going to be a great fight, let's see who wins the trophy!!!
