Team India is aggressively giving final touch to its 2022 T20 World Cup preparations and Asia Cup will be their last stop. The Indian team management has been experimenting with all possible combinations in the ongoing T20I series against West Indies.

The series against West Indies will be the last opportunity for the youngsters to show their spark, as all the regulars will return in the Asia Cup 2022. Most likely, all the players in the pipeline for the ICC T20 World Cup will be India’s line-up for the Asia Cup to start from August 27.

With the BCCI all set to announce the Indian squad for Asia’s elite T20 event, here we have compiled a list of star players who will make a sound comeback in the Asia Cup 2022.

Virat Kohli

Former Indian skipper was on a break following England tour and will be India’s main-man for the Asia Cup 2022. Virat Kohli asked BCCI for the break to rejuvenate himself ahead of multi-nation tournaments.

Virat’s struggle for runs is known to the world and a prominent member of Cricket’s ‘Fab 4’ gang hasn’t scored any hundred since November 2019. Kohli struggled briefly in IPL 2022 and UK tour, and in the meantime he even failed to breach the 50-runs mark across three formats. Virat Kohli needs to pull up his socks and needs to make a comeback in the Asia Cup as another below-par run streak can create a question mark in his future endeavors.

KL Rahul

KL Rahul had sidelined himself from any competitive cricket since the dawn of IPL 2022 due to some fitness glitch. After undergoing knee surgery in Germany, the Karnataka-based player was to tour the West Indies for the T20I series but was ruled-out at the last moment after contracting COVID 19. Now, the opening batter is expected to make a return in the Asia Cup.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah’s name needs no introduction, as the pacer with scorching pace is India’s best bet for ICC T20 World and Asia Cup 2022. Bumrah was rested ahead of the home series against South Africa and made a return for the England series. Later, the right-handed pacer remained absent from action for the West Indies series and will not tour Zimbabwe either.

Without any doubt, Burmah will be India’s key to success in T20 World Cup in Australia and is expected to kick off preparations with Asia Cup 2022.

Deepak Chahar

All eyes will be eagerly looking for Deepak Chahar’s name when India’s squad for Asia Cup will be announced on August 8. India’s power-play wicket-hunter remained out of action for almost 6 months due to some spine based injury. Although Bhuvneshwar Kumar has performed exceptionally in his absence, Chahar's six hitting ability will tempt India’s think-tank to try him in the Asia Cup 2022.
