India W

After registering a thumping win against Sri Lanka, India Women are all set to take on Malaysia Women in the 6th group-stage fixture of Women’s Asia Cup 2022 at the Sylhet International Stadium on Tuesday. Harmanpreet Kaur-led side kicked-off Asia's T20 hunt with a convincing 41-runs win against Sri Lanka. Jemmiah Rodrigues (76 runs off 53 balls) and Deepti Sharma (2 for 15 runs) were the top performers with bat and ball, respectively.

Team India will start Tuesday’s game being the undisputed favorites. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma failed to impress in the opening game and will be eager to make a strong comeback. Jemmiah Rodrigues starred with bat in the previous game and is expected to ride on the gained momentum. On bowling front, Dayalan Hemalatha, Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma will be India’s supreme attack against Malaysia’s enthusiastic batters.

Malaysia Women

Malaysia Women failed to impress in their very first Asia Cup battle-out, as they were bundled-up for mere 57 runs in the game against Pakistan. The road to recovery looks out of picture as the first-time qualifiers will meet dominant India Women in their next schedule. Asked to bat first, Malaysia batters couldn’t stand Pakistani bowlers' furious bowling line-up and add-on just 57 runs on board. For Malaysia Elsa Hunter and Wan Julia were the only batters with double-digit scores and six of the batters were bowled out on a duck.

Malaysia Women are on a stern test and would be eager to exhibit an improved show against India. Skipper Winifred Duraisingam needs to lead from the front and alongside Wan Julia should look forward to score some handy runs in the powerplay overs. Mahirah Izzati Ismail and Mas Elysa have impressed with their batting ability in the qualifiers round and need to perform well in the middle overs. For bowling duties, Aisya Eleesa, Jamahidaya Intan and Sasha Azmi may ridicule Indian batters with variations.

Topbets Prediction

India Women have a stronger and much more experienced unit than Malaysia Women, and are expected to dominate Monday's Asia Cup clash. The available depth in bowling and batting departments is a crucial advantage for Harmanpreet-led side. On the other hand, Malaysia is expected to improve their show but still they are needed to cover a lot of ground. Back India for an easy win.
