Analysis for the match.
India won the second T20 international against New Zealand and took a 1-0 lead in the series. Since the first match was rained-out, India cannot lose the series. We got a great glimpse into the style of captaincy that Hardik Pandya may adopt and he indicated a couple of changes could be likely for the third match.
New Zealand was playing its first-choice eleven but still suffered a massive defeat. Kane Williamson's place in the team will be under some scrutiny as his style of T20 cricket is becoming extinct. A lot of sub-plots to look forward to in this third T20.
The odds have evened out and currently, most of the top cricket betting sites in the world are giving New Zealand and India almost identical odds.
Match prediction and cricket betting tips for New Zealand vs India 3rd T20 2022. The match is going to be played at McLean Park, Napier on the 22nd of November 2022.
Must see point.
1). New Zealand's batting seems to be a bit underpowered at the moment
2). SKY is batting better than anyone has in the history of T20 cricket! He is a big factor in favor of India.
3). India's spinners were very effective against New Zealand in the opening match and that could be the case in the second match as well
Match Prediction: IND to win the match.
1). If NZ won the toss and opted to bowl first, IND could score 170-190 runs.
2). If IND won the toss and opted to bowl first, NZ could score 160-180 runs.
1). Suryakumar Yadav total runs - Over 21.5 runs.
Suryakumar Yadav struck 111 not out from 51 balls on Sunday and is the leading run scorer in IT20 cricket in 2022. He is our tip for India’s highest run scorer in this game.
2). Glenn Phillips total runs - Over 20.5 runs.
Glenn Phillips was New Zealand’s most impressive batter during the T20 World Cup and he timed the ball very well in his brief innings on Sunday. He is well worth backing as their highest run scorer in this IT20.
3). India total sixes in the match - Over 6.5
The team picked for the first match was one packed with six-hitters. SKY alone hit more than 6.5 sixes in the previous match. To get a potential 80% return on your stake is just too good to pass on.
New Zealand did decently in the previous match except for whenever they came up against Suryakumar Yadav. Tim Southee was the pick of the bowlers with a brilliant last over and a hat trick to show for his efforts. Apart from him, everyone else was expensive or ineffective.
Moving towards a high-scoring venue in Napier, New Zealand will be a bit concerned with its bowling effort.
New Zealand had a big score to chase and once it lost Finn Allen on the second ball of its inning, the rest of the batters never got started. Kane Williamson played 52 deliveries and scored just 61 runs. That was a match-losing effort as just could not find the boundaries often enough.
Devon Conway also struggled against the Indian new ball bowlers. We are not convinced New Zealand has the right sort of batting combination just yet and it needs to show a lot more intensity in this next match.
India picked a surprising team for the second match. Two left-handers opened the batting for India in T20 cricket after 10 years as Rishab Pant and Ishan Kishan walked out. Pant struggled and surely someone like Sanju Samson would be getting restless waiting in the wings. We hope he gets his chance in this next match but Pant is likely to continue.
The best batter on the night was SKY who underscored his place as the best T20 batter in the world. He reached 50 from 32 balls and then accelerated to 111 off 51 deliveries. He helped India reach a score that was above par and ensured that the bowlers always had the upper hand defending the total.
Shreyas Iyer in the middle order did not score too many but the intent with which he started was impressive. We think he could be in line for a big inning. Deepak Hooda did not get much time to bat but we are not sure he is the best option for number 6.
Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Arshdeep Singh were excellent with the new ball. They got almost twice the amount of swing that the New Zealand bowlers did. Mohammad Siraj followed up with a brilliant bowling performance and it helped that all of the spinners had a good day as well.
Hardik Pandya did not bowl himself but he very well could if he is required to. India has Umran Malik waiting in the wings and we would love to see him get a game in place of someone like Bhuvneshwar Kumar to help his development as a player.
Time - Nov 22nd, 12:00 am, IST.
Venue - McLean Park - Napier, New Zealand
There is some rain in Napier but the forecast appears to be good right now around the time that the match is expected to be played. We could have some interruptions but hopefully, nothing that will affect the duration of the match. There have been four international matches played here and only Bangladesh has failed to score more than 150. They ended up losing on both those occasions.
After impressing during the Tri-Nation Series, it has been a surprise to see all-rounder Michael Bracewell not selected for any of the T20 World Cup fixtures or for the game in Tauranga on Sunday. Captain Kane Williamson has an injury and we predict that Mark Chapman will come into the team with Tim Southee standing in as skipper.New Zealand have won only one of their last five IT20 matches.
Possible XI - Finn Allen, Devon Conway (wk), Mark Chapman, Glenn Phillips, Daryl Mitchell, Jimmy Neesham/Michael Bracewell, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee (c), Adam Milne, Ish Sodhi, Lockie Ferguson
After the 65 run win on Sunday and with no players reporting injuries, it would be a surprise to see India make any changes ahead of this final game of the series. Washington Sundar, who got a golden duck with the bat and conceded 17 runs from his opening over with the ball, is expected to get another opportunity.India are in strong form and have won three of their last four completed games in this format.
Possible XI - Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav/Sanju Samson, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Umran Malik, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal
