by  Shashi Shukla  •  Last updated on 2023-01-21 01:31:47

On Saturday in Raipur, the second ODI between India and New Zealand will take place. The first ODI was won by India by 12 runs. India presently leads the three-match series 1-0. India scored 349 runs in the opening game while batting first, while Shubman Gill scored a double-century. New Zealand fell short by 12 runs, Michael Bracewell scored a fighting 140 off 78 balls while Santner added 57 runs.

India had the advantage of players coming up with good form. Shubhman Gill became the youngest player to score a double century in ODIs, he had been in good form in the recent matches. The batter has been playing much more freely and has been able to obtain the scores just as his team would want him to. Gill will be on the lookout to get his side the vital runs once again when the opponents meet India in the 2nd ODI. The rest of the batting lineup couldn't do much better in the previous match. But Virat Kohli and other batters have been giving good performances consistently. They can together put trouble on the opponents. Siraj has been playing brilliantly with bowling and has added a four-fer in the last ODI by restricting the opponents. He is expected to give a good performance in this match also.

New Zealand is coming to face India after losing the first match of the series. This has affected their confidence level, the bowlers failed to restrict Gill from scoring. They will be trying to fix the problems that they faced in the batting and bowling area during the match. Understanding pitch and acting according to the plan will be the strategy that New Zealand will try to adapt in the 2nd ODI.

Match Prediction:

India will surely look forward to winning the match and taking the lead of 2-0 in the series. They are expected to dominate the match. New Zealand players will have to put more effort into batting and bowling departments to challenge India strongly.
