Lahore Qalandars

Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans are set to lock horns in Match No.20 of the Pakistan Super League 2023 on Saturday. The match will take place at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. The Qalandars, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi, are currently placed on top of the table with 10 points and a net run rate of +1.367. They will go into the game after beating Sarfaraz Ahmed’s Quetta Gladiators by 17 runs. The Qalandars were struggling at 50 for the loss of seven wickets in 9.3 overs, but Sikandar Raza’s unbeaten 71-run knock helped them post 148. Thereafter, they restricted the Gladiators to 131.

The team management will be hoping that top-order can show consistency with the bat in this fixture. In the previous match, Qalandars were reeling at 50 for 7 after 9.3 overs. For Qalandars, Sikandar Raza produced an outstanding performance with the bat and finished the innings with the top-score of 71 not out off 34 balls with the help of eight fours and three sixes. In the bowling department, the side will be depending on the likes of Shaheen Afridi, Rashid Khan, Dawid Wiese, Zaman Khan, and Haris Rauf to provide crucial breakthroughs.

Multan Sultans

The Sultans, captained by Mohammad Rizwan, on the other hand, will be playing after a six-day break. They are placed second in the table with eight points and a net run rate of +0.844 courtesy of four wins from six matches. They lost to Imad Wasim’s Karachi Kings by 66 runs in their previous match. The Sultans lost their 10 wickets for 60 runs after a 41-run opening stand between Rizwan and Shan Masood.

In the batting department, the onus will be on the likes of Mohammad Rizwan, opener Shan Masood, the middle-order trio of Rilee Rossouw, David Miller and Khushdil Shah to deliver the bulk of the runs. With 358 runs in six outings, Mohammad Rizwan is the leading run-scorer in the competition. The team management will be hoping that Rizwan can deliver a notable score against Lahore Qalandars. In the bowling department, the side will be depending on the likes of Ihsanullah, Usama Mir, Abbas Afridi, Akeal Hossein and Anwar Ali to deliver crucial breakthroughs.

Topbets Prediction

Based on current form, Lahore Qalandars will be slight favorites to win their game against Multan Sultans as they are playing in their home conditions. With likes of Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi, Sikandar Raza and Rashid Khan in their ranks, Qalandars will be looking to bring their A-game to the table in this fixture. On the other hand, Sultans-led by Rizwan have enough firepower in the playing XI to dismantle Lahore’s potent bowling attack. Expect Lahore Qalandars to register a narrow win over Multan Sultans.
