Because of several reasons:

1. Pitch was good for batting throughout.

2. India was able to contain Australia below 290, which was a psychological advantage.

3. Then comes the role of good partnerships.

4. Finally, the team effort was good.

1. They scored below par score ! Avg score at chinnaswamy is 300.

2. They lost opener pretty chiply so they couldn't set a tone for big runs.

3. They lost wickets at crucial time.

4. Their batsman except smith didn't applied their basics .

5. Lack of experience in their middle order.

6. Their premier bowlers gave up and lack of intent .

7. After 4 overs they are looking rusty.

8. They lacks plan B .

9. They gave easy single .

10. They have given room outside offstump to rohit while he is building his inning.

11. Their body language after vk-rohit partnership is poor.

12. And you should give credit to rohit and virat for exceptional batting and handling the situation.

Australia lost the match in the 1st innings itself.

A Score below 300 is quite an easy chase at the Chinnaswamy.

Aaron Finch’s Runout and Warner’s wicket cost them a lot cuz although Oz had a very good partnership between Marnus and Steve Smith they lacked the power hitting and acceleration in the death.. also credit to the Indian Bowlers..

Alex Carey He had to go , he went for the wild inside out but didn’t quite get the distance.Ashton Turner if he had contributed better score would be nearer to 330..

Unable to put pressure on India in the early overs..Not able to break the partnership of Kohli and Rohit .. Ya they didn’t give a chance to do so .. they played every shot with intent and every single run taken was with intent as Kohli said..

Virat looked to play an anchor role which he did but could not take his team home in a run chase which was a rare failure from Kohli - not from an individual perspective - but a failure to take India across the line in a run-chase!

All in all the men in blue entered the ground desperately looking to snatch the series and it happened..
