Has been a part of 99 test matches, 334 ODI, 229 first class and 433 list A cricket matches. He has scored 22 centuries in test, 7 in ODI, 54 in first class and 11 centuries in list A matches. For his contribution to the Indian cricket team, Mohammad Azharuddin was awarded the Arjun Award in 1986, Padma Shri in 1988 and the title of Wisden's cricket in 1991.
