I don’t think Sangakkara blamed Ravichandran Ashwin in any way for the loss of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2022 finals and whatever he said was interpreted in a wrong way by the Indian media to offer some controversy to the audience. And Indian audience waits for such controversies to offer air to the fire.
"Ash has done a great job for us. Even for Ash, being a legend of the game for what he has achieved on the cricket pitch, there will be lots of improvement and thinking to do, especially with his off and bowl more of it," Sangakkara said at the post-match conference.
This is what Sangakkara said in the post-match interview and I don’t think he blamed Ashwin even a bit for the loss. As a coach, it is his responsibility to offer constructive criticism as well because Ashwin cannot call himself even better than Sangakkara. The veteran off-spinner bowled just three overs and gave away 32 runs without taking any wickets. Ashwin was trying too hard to take wickets and though his side did not have enough runs on the board, a few tight overs in the middle stage could have shifted the momentum in Rajasthan's favor.
But these are the things of the past and the media and the audience should not play politics in the matter.
