Like everyone else, even I was quite surprised by Gujarat’s decision. I was like, what? are you serious, Are you making a player, a team captain? who has no experience in captaining a team?? Yeah, I was one of them, I thought this team would end up last and lose the maximum of their matches, Yes they proved me wrong, and one of the main reasons behind them winning matches, has got to be Hardik’s captaincy.
This was the main element that impressed me the most. Another element is, of course, him playing responsibly at number 3 or number 4, we have watched him play as a finisher at number 5 or number 6 when he was with MI. But this is quite different, from what have we witnessed back then. He’s doing a splendid job, and it came back great, as they won 8 of the 9 matches they played. They are definitely in the playoffs.
After watching his performances, I bet BCCI will want him back in the Indian squad, and he will probably get a chance in the T20 cup this year.
