While I think those who have nothing to do will keep on making such comparisons, it’s still early days to compare a legend like Dale Steyn to someone like Jasprit Bumrah. Yes, Bumrah is one of the top bowlers in the world currently and has done really well in his career, but we should not forget that Dale Steyn is a legend and he did exceptionally well in a short period of time. Dale Steyn was actually a rage as a fast bowler and most batsmen were scared of facing him because of his speed.
It’s just that injuries too the best of his bowling and he could not recover, otherwise he was better than James Anderson and I was expecting him to be one of the top 3 wicket getters in tests. A fan once tagged him and said that Jasprit Bumrah is better than him on social media and Dale Steyn replied that Jasprit Bumrah is better because he is retired now. So making such comparisons is senseless in the current period because we know exactly the skills of both these players.
