Sanju Samson is not picked up consistently in the team India’s playing XI while players like Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer get multiple opportunities. What could be the reason for Indian team management’s snub towards Sanju Samson?

Ok, so you may find it a little biased in the latter half but let's talk about the stats..

Shreyas Iyer averages 35 with a Strike Rate of 139 in the 42 t20i he has played so far…
Ishan Kishan averages 31 with a Strike Rate of 133 in the 18 t20i he has played so far,,,
Sanju Samson averages 19 with a Strike Rate of 136 in the 14 t20i he has appeared in…

Now many of you may argue that Samson’s sample size is too small to judge him.. but out of the 251 runs Sanju has scored so far in t20i cricket, 140 have been scored against Ireland, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe at a combined average of 37.. so you can clearly see that how low his average would have been in case we consider 10 games instead of 14….

Anyways, since Ishan is 4 years younger than both Iyer and Samson, he’ll get some advantage there… so it should be Shreyas vs Samson if we consider the future X1 here…

Personally, I don’t find Samson reliable, I mean we have seen how he scores 110 in the first IPL game and then 100 in the next 6 games combined… he’s inconsistent, he never had a season which you can consider as someone’s dream season in the IPL, I know even Iyer didn’t have such wonderful season but still, Samson never gave those dependable players vibes in his career tbh…

It is harsh on Samson tho, the most BCCI can do is to give chances to Samson in place of Iyer but considering the tight competition and the emergence of SKY and Pant, things look tough for both Iyer and Samson as of now…
