Bhuvneshwar Kumar is an interesting case of what could have been. His skill set and mindset all further his case for a place in the test side. It is only his fitness that prevents him from doing the same.
He had last played a test match in 2018 against South Africa. He was then selected for the 2018 tour of England owing to his reputation for swinging the ball both ways. He was, however, injured just before the start of the tour.
With the emergence of the new pace attack of Bumrah, Shami, and Siraj, the services of Bhuvi were not required in the team. Him being injured allowed other pacers to claim a spot in the team.
He’s 32 now, so hopefully, he can make a comeback and swing the game in India’s favor.
