Suryakumar Yadav scored a fabulous century against New Zealand in yesterday’s T20I. What was your first impression about his form with the bat? Does his century proved clinical in India’s success against New Zealand?

I think Virat Kohli described it the best.

It was a really tough wicket to bat on. If we have a look at the scorecard of both the teams, we'll know how tough the wicket was to bat on.

    Indian Scorecard.

    Ishan Kishan - 36(31)

    Rishabh Pant - 6(13)

    Shreyas Iyer - 13(9)

    Hardik Pandya - 13(13)

    Deepak Hooda - 0(1)

    Washington Sundar - 0(1)

    Bhuvaneshwar Kumar - 1(1)

    NZ Scorecard.

    Finn Allen - 0(2)

    Devon Conway - 25(22)

    Kane Williamson - 61(52)

    Glenn Phillips - 12(6)

    Daryl Mitchell - 10(11)

    James Neesham - 0(3)

    Mitchell Santner - 2(7)

    Adam Milne - 6(5)

    Ish Sodhi - 1(3)

    Tim Southee - 0(1)

    Lockie Ferguson - 1(1)

One could sense that the wicket was tough to bat on. Almost everyone struggled to either accelerate or stay longer at the crease. It was purely an one-man show with the bat throughout the match.

His stats in the match -

    Runs - 111*

    Balls - 51

    4s/6s - 11/7

    Bat SR - 217.65

On a pitch where almost everyone else struggled, he was outstanding. Mind you, it was the same bowling attack that played semifinals in T20 world cup. Just Trent Boult wasn't featuring in this attack.

But SKY showed why he's currently ranked no.1 in the world with the bat in T20is.
